St. Louis theater company invites high schoolers to enter one-act play competition
What’s this about a playwriting contest on inkpop?
On November 22, inkpopper Ricki Marking-Camuto posted an inkpop Forums post to invite teens around the globe to enter a playwriting contest hosted by the Y-Rep Teens of the West County Family Branch of the YMCA of Greater St. Louis.
What’s the prize? The plays of first-, second-, and third-place winners will be chosen to be performed May 6-8, 2010. Winners will be notified by the end of February.
“Every year, the teens’ theater group at my community theater holds a playwriting contest open to any high school student,” writes Camuto, who works as the Arts Coordinator for the YMCA of Greater St. Louis. “Within the past two years, we have opened it up to outside of the St. Louis area, so I thought inkpoppers might be interested in entering.”
