inkpop announces 4 winners of Melissa Marr-inspired writing contest
Melissa Marr’s Fragile Eternity inspired the 10th inkpop Challenge, a writing contest that invited inkpop.com site members to write stories, essays, and poetry about the notion of “foreverness.” The writing challenge launched March 19 and wrapped up on March 28, making it one of the teen literary site’s most popular events to date.
Four winners—two inkpop Challenge writers and two Challenge commenters—were randomly selected to win a copy of Fragile Eternity by Melissa Marr, in addition to two HarperTeen books of their choice.
I like the phrase “frantic balance” and the lines “A forever traveling starless sight/And my eternity brings loneliness” and “A blank sky before a never coming dawn”. You convey emotions of sadness, loss, fear, love and wonder.
Nice work. Good luck with your writing.
an improvement, but the middle seemed to still be a little off. this time i think it may be the rhymning that didn’t match up with the rest. nice addition though, it seems to give it a new edge of perspective, and changes the tone slightly. still VERY original idea here=)
