inkpop members are invited to pull out top-gun questions for 3 top-gun experts

What are your biggest pet peeves?

What is your policy for publishing young authors?

Which authors are the most fun to work with?

These are just three of the dozens of questions that inkpop members have pre-posted for three editing gurus to answer as part of “HarperCollins Editor Power Chat #1” on March 31 at 5 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. inkpoppers are invited to participate in the live, one-hour Forums Event; aspiring authors and editors who have not yet joined inkpop are welcome to create inkpop profiles in order to participate.

ABOUT THE EDITORS

Jordan Brown joined Walden Pond Press/HarperCollins Children’s in October 2008, after five years with Atheneum Books for Young Readers. Over that time, he has had the pleasure of working on books by such distinguished writers and illustrators as Jon Scieszka, Frank Cottrell Boyce, Anne Ursu, Chris Lynch, Gris Grimly, M. Sindy Felin, Nic Sheff, and Greg Ruth. He is most taken with character- and voice-driven stories for middle-grade and teen readers, and splits his time between a cubicle in Manhattan and a cubicle-like apartment in Brooklyn.

Zareen Jaffery is a senior editor at HarperCollins Children’s Books. Her list focuses mainly on teen fiction for girls, with projects including The Vampire Diaries by L.J. Smith, L.A. Candy by Lauren Conrad, Evernight by Claudia Gray, and Dark Guardians by Rachel Hawthorne. She was previously an Editor at Hyperion Books.

Catherine Onder is an Editor at HarperCollins Children’s Books. She focuses on teen and tween novels, and also edits some picture books. Authors she works with include Geraldine McCaughrean, Jenny Valentine, Georgia Byng, Allan Stratton, Lynn Messina, and others. When she isn’t reading or editing, she loves to cook and dance salsa.
