All things ‘Mockingjay’ Though July 3, 2010 marked the trade paperback release of Suzanne Collins’ The Hunger Games; diehard fans have already been there done that and are counting down to a different Collins release – that of Mockingjay, the third and final installment of The Hunger Games series, which is set to hit stores on August 24, 2010. But even more thrilling, perhaps, than the August release, is the tour that will accompany it. Scholastic has just revealed that Collins will participate in a 12-market tour that will take her from New York City to California and everywhere in between from August 24 through November. Publisher’s Weekly.

Andrew Garfield aka…Peter Parker We may have grown accustomed to actor Tobey Maguire playing the role of Peter Parker given the fact that he has starred in three Spider-Man films as the character; but Sony Pictures hopes that fans of the original movies will be able to put Maguire’s image out of their minds and instead embrace Andrew Garfield, the virtual unknown who will star in a Spider-Man reboot based on a screenplay by James Vanderbilt. Spider-Man 2.0 will focus on Peter Parker’s high school roots, and is set to be shot in 3-D and released in theaters July 3, 2012. MTV.

Twelve additional ‘Liars’ on the way Fans of Sara Shepard’s Pretty Little Liars series should find it as no surprise that the book to TV adaptation would be a hit due to the fact that the novels are as addictive as candy; but they will be happy to learn that ABC Family is on the same page as readers, ordering a full twelve more episodes of what has been called “a breakout hit for the network,” to satiate the hunger that viewers have for the storylines and characters. The twelve-episode extension will bring more drama, more suspense, and a lot more pretty; and, hopefully, a second season won’t be far behind! Mediaweek.

Over to you…if Suzanne Collins makes a stop in your area, will you pop in to have your book signed? If you had the chance to ask Suzanne Collins just one question, what would it be and why? What do you think of a revamped Spider-Man – is it unnecessary, premature…? Have you been watching Pretty Little Liars? What are your thoughts on how the book series has been adapted to TV – good, bad, just okay…?
