‘How to Train your Dragon’…the animated series! After earning nearly $500 million dollars worldwide via the big screen adaptation of Cressida Cowell’s How to Train Your Dragon, it was inevitable that we would be hearing more from the book turned box office superstar – and we are. Hot on the heels of the news that DreamWorks has begun production on a sequel – How to Train Your Dragon 2 – Cartoon Network has divulged that they are also adapting the bestseller – as a weekly animated series of the same name! The show is set to debut on Cartoon Network in 2012, and will provide viewers with weekly lessons in how to train a troublesome dragon! Los Angeles Times.

Hilary Duff’s writing debut Hilary Duff has practically grown-up in the public eye, entertaining the world via her titles of singer, actress, model, fashion designer…but those monikers weren’t enough to satisfy her; thus, she has added a new name to her resume – author. Hilary Duff’s debut novel Elixir – the projected first in a trilogy – hit bookshelves last week on October 12, 2010; the novel is said to be a paranormal love story which follows privileged photojournalist Clea Raymond as she attempts to learn the secrets of her past to properly live out her future. The Daily Mail.

‘Napoleon Dynamite’ gets the toon treatment! After much discussion of a possible Napoleon Dynamite animated series, the verdict is finally in…six episodes of the show have been picked up by Fox, and will soon be coming your way via the tube! The original Napoleon Dynamite live-action cast will be returning to the phenomenon to voice their characters – including Jon Heder as Napoleon; and will be written and executive produced by Jared Hess, Jerusha Hess, and Mike Scully – the latter of whom has working on The Simpsons. No word yet on when the show will debut. Hollywood Reporter.

Over to you…what do you think of How to Train Your Dragon? Are you excited to see a sequel, in addition to a weekly animated series – why or why not? Will you be reading Hilary Duff’s Elixir? Are you a Napoleon Dynamite fan? Are you excited to see it animated?

Oh no, oh no, oh no! PLEASE don’t tell me that they’re gonna turn How to Train your Dragon into a cartoon show!!! Nooooo! I am happy to hear about HtTyD 2, though. That one might actually turn out okay.

I loved the movie Napoleon Dynamite, though I think that it should have been left alone. Who knows, the cartoon might be okay, but it might not… I’ll probably try to see it when it comes out still, though.
