Though production on the TV show Sex and the City stopped in 2004, after running from 1998, the series – hailed as one of the “100 Best TV Shows of All-TIME” by Time magazine in 2007 – went on to spawn two box office feature films starring Sarah Jessica Parker, in addition to a little something for YA readers – a teenage Carrie Bradshaw via Candace Bushnell’s The Carrie Diaries, which introduced readers to the precocious Carrie Bradshaw…at age 17. Now, with the release of Summer and the City (the sequel to The Carrie Diaries) just a few short months away, people have begun to question…should The Carrie Diaries be optioned for the big screen, who would play the title role of the teenage wannabe journalist? MTV.
