Elijah Wood to take on Frodo Baggins once more! He has already played the role of Frodo Baggins in all three Lord of the Rings films; but actor Elijah Wood is not ready to hang up his hobbit hat just yet. In an exciting revelation for Lord of the Rings fans, it was recently announced that Elijah Wood would be reprising his role as the Middle Earth-dwelling hobbit Frodo Baggins in the two-part big screen adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien’s classic The Hobbit. Once again, the films will be shot in New Zealand, with Sir Ian McKellan returning as Gandalf, Cate Blanchett as Galadriel, and Andy Serkis as Gollum. Media Bistro.

Gregory Maguire’s ‘Wicked’…from Broadway to the small screen! Since its release in 1995, Gregory Maguire’s Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West has not just topped the bestseller’s list, but spawned a classic Broadway play, as well. Now, in a move to bring even more attention to the iconic creation, ABC Studios and actress/producer Salma Hayek are planning on bringing Wicked to the small screen via an eight-hour miniseries adaptation. “ The insider stresses that it would be based on the novel and not the musical. As a result, this ‘Wicked’ would be less of a prequel and more of a parallel story to ‘The Wizard of Oz’.” TV Line.

Over to you…are you excited for The Hobbit? Are you happy that the original cast members of Lord of the Rings – specifically Elijah Wood – are reprising their roles for The Hobbit – why or why not? On a scale of 1 to 10, how excited are you for a Wicked miniseries? If you could see anyone in the roles of Glinda the Good Witch and Elphaba the Bad Witch, who would they be and why? If you could see any author in their prom attire, who would it be and why?

Now I’ve never read the book “Wicked”, but I loved the play. I especially loved Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth; I have a hard time picturing anybody doing a better job. But I’ll give the tv show an optimistic “10”.

Won’t the audiences wonder why Frodo, Bilbo, etc. are so “OLD” in this prequel. =]
