★ Two teaser pages of Maggie Stiefvater’s ‘Forever’ There may still be a full five months before Maggie Stiefvater’s Forever, the final volume in her Wolves of Mercy Falls trilogy, hits bookstores; but on February 14, 2011, Valentine’s Day, Stiefvater showered her fans with the type of love that candy hearts and chocolates simply can’t beat – the first two pages of Forever read by Stiefvater herself on a video posted to Facebook. ★ UK students to illustrate new Nickelodeon UK TV series! Though most television programs are crafted by the hands of industry professionals to bring wholesome entertainment to the masses; things are a little different for the soon-to-debut Nickelodeon UK series Olive the Ostrich. As part of an educational initiative in coordination with The Princes Foundation for Children & the Arts and Nickelodeon UK, Blue-Zoo, a celebrated UK animation house, is allowing students the chance to create original artwork for the series, which is scheduled to appear in Nickelodeon’s Nick Jr. lineup sometime in 2011. “Through the initiative, under-funded schools across the UK will be provided with resources and content that help foster storytelling and art skills. The output from the schools will be used as props, backgrounds and characters in Olive’s imaginary world and will be animated into 2-D for each episode.” Kidscreen.
★ ‘Incarceron adaptation snags a student from Hogwarts and a werewolf from ‘Twilight’ While Twilight star, Taylor Lautner, officially signed on to star as Finn in the big screen adaptation of Catherine Fisher’s Incarceron back in December of 2010, the role of Claudia has yet to be cast…until now. Though nothing is official at this time, Just Jared has reported that Harry Potter star Emma Watson is at the top of the list to star as the leading lady. Moviefone.
