Shel Silverstein…posthumously published Due to his death in 1999, you may have thought that further poetry collections from author Shel Silverstein (whom penned the wildly popular and award-winning collections Where the Sidewalk Ends and A Light in the Attic) were out of the question…you’d be wrong. Come September 20, 2011, HarperCollins will be publishing Every Thing on It – a posthumous poetry collection from Silverstein. “ With more than one hundred and thirty never-before-seen poems and drawings completed by the cherished American artist and selected by his family from his archives, this collection will follow in the tradition and format of his acclaimed poetry classics.” MediaBistro.

‘Archie Babies’! Since his debut in December of 1941, teenager Archie Andrews and his pals – Betty Cooper, Reggie Mantle, Jughead Jones, and Veronica Lodge – have been fixtures on the comic book scene. We’ve watched Betty and Veronica battle over Archie’s affections, Jughead devour hundreds of thousands of tasty treats, and Reggie think up various get-rich-quick schemes. Now, writer Mike Kunkel and artist Art Mawhinney are taking fans back to the beginning in The Archie Babies, a graphic novel that will hit stores on June 22, 2011. “ See it all happen from the sandbox to the jungle gym as Baby Archie meets Baby Betty and Baby Veronica. Watch the friendship grow between Baby Archie and Baby Jughead. It’s every bit of the Archie fun you’ve come to expect in a cuter and smaller package.” GalleyCat.
