Sophie Jordan’s ‘Firelight’ to hit the big screen! We’ve seen every paranormal entity and mythical creature – from fairies to werewolves and vampires – hit the bookstore and the big screen over the past few years. The one thing that has gone largely untouched, however, is the dragon. Sophie Jordan, author of the bestselling Firelight, and its soon-to-be-released sequel Vanish – whom visited us here on inkpop for a live chat back in November 2010 – is about to change that. According to THR, Jordan’s Firelight is on its way to the big screen – with Cathy Schulman serving as director, and Nick Pustay helming the screenplay. “‘Firelight’ centers on Jacinda, a young girl who is a ‘draki,’ a descendant of dragons who can morph into human form, and set to marry another of her kind. When Jacinda’s mom moves her and her twin sister to live among humans for safety reasons, Jacinda puts her family at risk when she falls for a member, Will, of a secret dragon-hunting society.” Just Jared.

Take a walk through the world of ‘Harry Potter’ Many of us have harbored dreams of visiting the locales that Harry, Hermione, Ron, and the rest of the charming Potter crew find themselves day in and day out – now Warner Bros. is working to make those dreams a reality. Beginning in spring of 2012, Warner Bros. will begin offering fans a Leavesden, England walking tour which brings Harry Potter fans up close and personal with the production set where all of the magic happens. “The three-hour-long tour will give fans the chance to see sets, costumes, props and effects used in all eight Harry Potter movies. Tickets go on sale later this year. Potter fans will be able to walk onto sets including headmaster Dumbledore’s office and the 120-ft long Great Hall featuring ‘the tables and benches used in the films.’”. Deadline.

Sneak peek of ‘I Am Number Four’ sequel ‘The Power of Six’! You may have thought that seeing the film adaptation of Pittacus Lore’s I Am Number Four – the first title in the Lorien Legacies series – would tide you over until the August 23, 2011 release of its much-awaited sequel The Power of Six; but chances are it only made you even hungrier to discover what will happen next. Luckily for you, Pittacus Lore himself has released an excerpt of the novel, which you can read here. Just Jared, Jr.

Over to you…Are you a fan of Sophie Jordan’s Firelight? If you had the chance to cast both Jacinda and Will in the film, who would you select, and why? What do you think of a Harry Potter Walking Tour? Would you buy tickets to such an excursion – why or why not? On a scale of 1 to 10, how excited are you for the release of The Power of Six? Will you be buying a copy once it hits bookstores?
