Jennifer Lawrence is Katniss Everdeen! For months upon months fans of Suzanne Collins’ The Hunger Games have been made to wait for the announcement which would officially state which Hollywood actress would take on the role of girl on fire Katniss Everdeen – finally, the day of reckoning has arrived. Late last week, twenty-year-old Oscar-nominated actress Jennifer Lawrence, whom starred in the film Winter’s Bone, was confirmed as the one who would take on the role of Katniss Everdeen. Lawrence will star in the entire film trilogy, which includes adaptations of The Hunger Games, and its two sequels – Catching Fire and Mockingjay. The Hollywood Gossip.

Robin Palmer’s ‘Geek Charming’ coming to the small screen! Author Robin Palmer has received high praise from readers and critics alike for her Clueless-esque YA novel Geek Charming; and now Disney has taken notice of the tale, and plans on bringing it to the small screen via a Disney Channel Original Movie which stars Sarah Hyland opposite Matt Prokop. “… the story revolves around the dynamics of high school popularity and the dreaded social hierarchy.” No airing date has been released at this time. Veronica Roth’s ‘Divergent’ to be the next ‘Twilight’ Twenty-two-year-old debut author Veronica Roth has yet to release her YA novel Divergent; but already it is receiving comparisons to other dystopian tales – such as Suzanne Collins’ The Hunger Games – and has been purchased by Summit Entertainment (the masterminds behind the Twilight saga) in the hopes of transforming it into the next big film franchise. “The novel, which will be published by the HarperCollins imprint Katherine Tegen Books, follows 16-year-old Beatrice Prior in dystopian Chicago.” Divergent is scheduled to hit bookstores on May 3, 2011. No word on when casting or production for the film adaptation will begin; but chances are Beatrice Prior will be a much-coveted role for young Hollywood. MTV.

    Wait-I’ve never read the Hunger Games, but I know that Katniss’s hair isn’t red. Are they going to dye her hair? Or face the rage of Hunger Games fans?
