Lauren Conrad to pen ‘L.A. Candy’ spin-off series After the wild success of reality show alumni and fashion designer Lauren Conrad’s ‘L.A. Candy’ trilogy – which debuted in 2009 with L.A. Candy, and concluded with Sugar and Spice in 2010 – readers found themselves eager to read more from the star. Now, they have the chance to. Conrad recently inked a three-book deal with HarperCollins that will serve as a spin-off of the L.A. Candy series, entitled The Fame Game. This time, however, instead of focusing on Jane Roberts, the books will follow fame-monger Madison, who Conrad describes as being an individual who “has fun with the press, she enjoys the attention, she welcomes scandal.” A release date for the series has not yet been announced. Disney Channel shows its fangs! Though the Disney Channel has been one of the stations known for embracing the paranormal with original series such as So Weird, That’s So Raven, and The Wizards of Waverly Place; the tween station has very rarely tried vampires on for size. Until now. Disney Channel recently announced that they have picked up My Babysitter’s a Vampire, an original supernatural series which gained popularity in Canada in late 2010. Disney is set to air thirteen episodes of the thirty-minute series, in addition to a ninety-minute film. No word on when the series will debut in the States. Kidscreen.

Lily Collins to play ‘Snow White’ Actress Lily Collins has her plate full in regards to starring in film adaptations of bestsellers. Late last year she was selected to play Clary Fray in the film adaptation of Cassandra Clare’s The Mortal Instruments; now it has been announced that the actress will take on the role of Snow White in The Brothers Grimm: Snow White opposite Armie Hammer as Prince Andrew and Julia Roberts as the Evil Queen. “According to Monsters and Critics, ‘the modern day retelling of Snow White finds the vengeful heroine joining forces with a gang of seven dwarves after her evil stepmother kills her father.’” The film is scheduled to hit theaters in June of 2012.     I love how whoever writes theses blogs seems to think that “whom” is a default smarter way of saying “who.” There is a difference. And this is supposed to be a writing website?
