★ It was the butler with the candlestick in the library Before the age of technology, evenings were spent poring over board games such as CLUE, struggling to put together the pieces to solve mysteries alongside your family and friends; though over the years board games have fallen to the wayside courtesy of video games, computers, and social networking sites, CLUE has remained a household name – and now it’s coming to the small screen! As part of The Hub, a new cable station being introduced by Discovery Communications and Hasbro Inc.; is said to be a weekly, half-hour live-action series which follows a youthful cast of characters as they find clues and work together to solve mysteries. ★ The missing piece to Dahl’s ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ Readers were introduced to many dreadful characters within the pages of Roald Dahl’s classic Charlie and the Chocolate Factory when it was first published back in 1964. The novel went on to spawn two films – 1971’s Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory starring Gene Wilder, and 2005’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory starring Johnny Depp – and introduced us to the spoiled Veruca Salt, vile Violet Beauregarde, gluttonous Augustus Gloop, obnoxious Mike Teavee, and the charming Charlie Bucket himself. But there were others. Before making it to press, Dahl had several other nasty children characters within Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’s pages – children who didn’t make the cut.
